Deflection
Cast past cover and reel until the lure hits it. The deflection triggers reaction strikes. Rocks, docks, and laydowns are prime targets.
Stop and Go
Reel fast, pause, reel fast again. The pause lets the lure float up (or suspend), which triggers following fish to commit.
Slow Roll
Retrieve just fast enough to feel the wobble. Keeps the lure in the strike zone longer. Best for cold water or inactive fish.
Burn
Fast retrieve just under the surface. Triggers reaction strikes from aggressive fish. Best for summer and fall.
